Description
This year the CMP BC/Yukon Branch is once again offering scholarships that will be awarded in addition to the work term / internship opportunities for temporary work with companies that are active in the mineral processing field.
Eligibility
To be eligible, you must be an undergraduate student in a minerals industry related post-secondary education program in BC or YT, with a mineral processing component (e.g. UBC Mining Engineering, BCIT Mining & Mineral Exploration Technology, Northwest School of Exploration & Mining, Yukon College Mining School of Science).
Successful students must demonstrate a genuine interest in pursuing a career in mineral processing following completion of their program. This can be demonstrated by related work experience, either prior to or during student’s program, course electives if available, and overall academic achievement, with a particular focus on excellence in mineral processing related courses.
Application Requirements
- Résumé & Cover letter indicating your interest and when you are available for employment.
- Completed application form (electronic format available online)
- Letter of recommendation from a mineral processing professor or work experience supervisor
- Official copy of academic transcript, showing at least one year of academic results and / or course content for their current year. (Original document should be mailed, if requested)
