Meeting – Hyatt Regency Hotel, Thursday, November 29th

The 2018 conference and AGM of the BC/Yukon Branch of the Canadian Mineral Processors will be held on Thursday, November 29th at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, 655 Burrard Street in Vancouver.

Registration will be open at 7:00am and the meeting will begin at 8:00am.

There will be a reception held on Wednesday, November 28th from 5:30pm – 12:00am at Moose’s Down Under, 830 West Pender Street in Vancouver. The reception is also open to those who cannot attend the conference. Again this year, we are holding a toy drive for the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau. For every unwrapped toy brought to Moose’s, a free beverage ticket will be provided. We encourage you to bring as many toys as you can and there is no limit!

For those attending from outside the Vancouver area, there are a number of hotels in the general area that offer competitive rates including the host Hyatt Regency Hotel. A special rate of $239/night has been negotiated with the Hyatt Regency Hotel; please contact hotel to book at the discounted rate. Link to follow.

This year’s conference will feature a keynote presentation from Simon Hille, Goldcorp Inc.

If you are interested in presenting a paper yourself, please contact Stefan Nadolski (snadolski@minpraxis.com), with your abstract for the presentation. The format of the presentations is a PowerPoint file approximately 20 minutes long – no written paper is needed. The selection process will give preference to papers with content relevant to operations especially with content related to the BC/Yukon region.

Finally, if you are interested in sponsoring this year’s event and the initiatives of the BC/Yukon Branch in general, please contact Chris Burke (chrisburke@powerchem.net). Sponsorship helps subsidize the cost of the event as well as well as provide scholarships and donations to other organizations that the CMP supports. Typical sponsorship amounts range from $500-5,000, but any contribution is gratefully accepted. Sponsorship can be by credit card during the registration process or by cheque directly. Sponsors will have their logo displayed at the event and LinkedIn.

If you need further information about the meeting, please feel free to contact the undersigned. We look forward to seeing you in November!

Best Regards,
