It is our pleasure to invite you and your colleagues to attend the 44th Annual Canadian Mineral Processors Operators’ Conference in Ottawa, January 17-19, 2012. All sessions will be held at the Westin Hotel in the Confederation Ballrooms, 4th Floor. The Conference will feature presentations on various aspects of mineral processing including operations, plant flotation, advanced technologies, gold processing, hydrometallurgy, rare earths, industrial and energy minerals and comminution.

Accommodations
A special rates of $189 (single/double) and $239 (deluxe) including internet have been negotiated for a block of rooms at the Westin Hotel (reference the Canadian Mineral Processors Conference). . The Westin Hotel will only guarantee these rooms until January 3, 2011. Last year our block of rooms sold out in December so please book you room early to avoid disappointment. Registration
The early registration fee for this year's meeting is $500 for CIM/AIME/TMS members, $100 for CIM member retirees (60+) and $690 for non-members (tax included). The non-member rate includes one-year membership in CIM. Registration includes the three day meeting, coffee breaks, the Tuesday luncheon and evening social reception, the Wednesday Reception and Awards Dinner, as well as a copy of the proceedings. Conference registration and attendance at social events should be indicated on the registration form or the secure online registration form.

All pre-registered delegates will be able to pick up their registration kits at the Conference Registration Desk, 4th Floor, Westin Hotel, Monday evening between 19:00 and 22:00 and during the conference between 7:00 to 15:15 Tuesday, 7:30 – 15:15 Wednesday and 8:00 – 15:15 Thursday. New registrations will be taken during these times.

Note: To pre-register, the form must be received by December 20, 2011 and any requests for refunds must be made, in writing, prior to December 20, 2011. After this date an administration fee of $100 will be charged for new and/or cancelled registrations.

Short Courses
Three short courses will be at CMP 2012.

  • Flotation Fundamentals and Applications

  • State of the Art Metallurgical Accounting

  • Statistical Benchmark Surveying

All costs include lunch, coffee breaks and course materials. Attendance is limited, please register early.

Companion’s program
The companion’s program this year will offer a coffee and tea social, visits, the Museum of Civilization with lunch, and a wine and food tasting event. The cost of the program is $50 and does not include a ticket to the Wednesday Reception and Awards Dinner.

CMP’S GOT TALENT!
WANTED: Acoustic Guitar Players

Guitar playing CMP delegates of all skill levels are invited to bring their guitar to Ottawa for the CMP Got Talent – Acoustic Guitar event. This friendly talent competition will take place at the Chairman’s Reception on January 17th, 2012 at the Westin Hotel. Two microphones (voice and guitar) will be available. Each participant will have the opportunity to play as many as three songs. The guitar player who will most successfully make the audience sing along will be declared the winner. Registration is absolutely free but open exclusively to CMP delegates. For registering, please send an email to CMP Chairman, Don Leroux at dleroux@algosys.com indicating the title of three songs you’d like to play (song selection will be granted on a ‘first in, first served’ basis). We know that many CMP delegates Got Talent and we look forward to hearing from them.
